I am a domestic worker and I have been on remand for two years as a result of trusting a man from Nigeria who took advantage of me. These people only want to gain your trust so they can use you for their illegal activities. Unfortunately, I am not the only victim. Many Filipina and Indonesian women are also in prison because of this Nigerian ring.
I want to bring this to the attention of the Hong Kong authorities in order to warn them about this Nigerian ring. We all admit that we were foolish to trust them, but I believe that God will help us because only He knows the truth.
These people only want to gain your trust so they can use you for their illegal activities…. Many Filipina and Indonesian women are also in prison because of this Nigerian ring.
I urge all women to be very careful when dealing with Nigerians. They may appear friendly at first, but they will take advantage of you once they have gained your trust.
Being imprisoned far away from family is very difficult. I miss them, especially my two daughters. I am heartbroken because I cannot be there to support them. They are the sole reason I accepted the offer from that man. I needed money for my medication, as I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
The man asked me to help him pick up a package, and I accepted because I needed the money. However, I had no idea what was in the package, and he did not tell me how much he would pay me. The same day I picked up the package, I was arrested by Customs. I was told that that man had used me for his illegal activities. I had fallen victim.
I urge everyone to be extremely cautious when befriending people from Nigeria. Otherwise, you may end up in prison like me and many others who are still suffering while those responsible are free.
When will we be able to reunite with our families? Why do we have to suffer like this? How much longer must we endure this situation? I believe that God will judge in my favor and hear my prayers.
