Um negócio de mentiras

A business of lies

I am from Africa, I come from a middle class family. I am participating in the campaign “No More Mules”  to call attention to this plight. I was tricked and used a mule by a man of Nigerian nationality, who took advantage of my job in trade and commerce.

He approached me and said he wanted to buy my products. Days later, when he had gained my trust and was satisfied he could trust me, he persuaded me to take my products to South Africa where he said he would have more buyers for them. He showed me an air ticket to Hong Kong saying he had obtained it at a low price. I was happy about it because in conversation, I had said to him that I intended to travel to Hong Kong to look for products I could sell in my country.

He also told  me that he had something to send to his brother in Hong Kong and would then use the opportunity I was coming to HK and send it with me. Of course now I know that he intended to use me as a mule to carry drugs to Hong Kong.  And today I am in prison here.

I’d like to warn people everywhere through this letter and the program “No More Mules”, about the risks involved in letting themselves be used by drug traffickers. To be used as mules to carry drugs into Hong Kong.

Today, I suffer because of my situation and my family is also suffering, afraid of these traffickers.

I want to warn people not to carry drugs into Hong Kong and No More Mules.
